The titanium carbide coating indicates the following properties:
As a result of the extremely high hardness of TiC, significant durability improvements result in the area of the metal shaping of thick plates. The CVD coating technology guarantees the highest level of adhesion and wear reserve for tools which are not too critical concerning dimensional accuracy. After the coating, a high-gloss polish of the functional surfaces guarantees friction reduction and lubrication film-conveying surfaces.
The application of the TiC layers for metal forming is implemented according to the CVD process at approx. 1000° C. This guarantees the highest level of adhesion. The higher layer thicknesses of up to 9 µm possible through the CVD process represent a welcome wear reserve in case of many applications.
